Blood Donor Register

Do you own a fit and healthy dog aged between 1 and 8 years old, weighing over 25kg, up to date with vaccinations and have not travelled abroad? If so, would you be prepared to volunteer them to donate blood to help save another dog’s life? Sadly, there is no reliable blood bank for dogs currently and, in recent years, we have seen increased need for emergency blood transfusions. This may be following injury, lungworm infection or other disease, but in such cases, having a blood donor available really can help to save a life. If you would like to know more about what is involved in donating blood and joining our donor register, please contact us at any of our surgeries or at info@alphapet.co.uk.
