Ehrlichiosis

This is a new tick-borne disease confirmed in the New Forest. Ehrlichia is spread by a specific tick , the Brown Dog tick, Rhipicephalus, which is not normally seen in the UK, but has now been reported in Kent and the New Forest. It is a nasty disease and can be fatal. There is no vaccine and prevention is by using an effective tick repellant spot on or collar such as a Seresto collar.
