The AlphaPet Charity Animal Fun Day and Dog Show 2015

The AlphaPet Charity Animal Fun Day and Dog Show 2015

This year it will be taking place on Sunday 2nd August on the Queens Field next to our West Meads surgery in Bognor. As usual it will be a great fun day out for all the family.

Each year we choose 2 very worthy charities that will benefit from the day and this year all our proceeds will be split between Canine Partners and Many Tears Animal Rescue. Canine Partners provide specially trained dogs to assist disabled humans. Many Tears Animal Rescue is a dog rescue and rehoming organisation. You can find out more about them by clicking on the links:

Dog Show registration is from 11.30am and the show itself will kick off at 12.30pm. All classes will be £1.50 each and you can enter as many classes as you like. Choose from the following:

Best Puppy (under a year old)

Best Veteran (over 7 years old)

Prettiest Bitch

Handsomest Dog

Most Appealing Eyes

Waggiest Tail

Dog Most Like its Owner (Fancy Dress is optional here!)

Best in Show

So what else can you expect? There will be refreshments available all day from homemade cakes to burgers and fish and chips. Pinks Vintage Ice Cream will also be on hand should we need cooling down! We hope that this year we will not have our usual downpour in the middle of the show!

Family attractions and things to do will include a Tombola, lots of Charity Stalls, Second Hand Pet Accessories, Bouncy Castle and lots more for the children. In our pets corner you can expect to see a wide variety of animals from those you would find on a farm to exotic species. There is something for everyone!

There will be fun and games and activities for dogs too. £1 each to have a go at Musical Sits, Fastest Recall, Temptation Alley, Dogstable Course, Gun Dog Scurry and a Doggy Lucky Dip!

Sussex County Dog Training will be giving us some demonstrations of Flyball and Agility and Canine Partners will also be giving us a demonstration of the work that they do.

To document the day for us, our receptionist Sue Bird and her husband Joe will be taking photos of the event and portraits that can printed off for you on the day itself. To see some of their work, please click here: http://www.jsbeephotography.com/

We will also be getting some different views of the day as taken by JTM media. Weather permitting, they will be taking to the skies above the show and taking aerial shots from a quadrocopter! So keep looking up and you may just spot them! You can view some of the amazing shots they took last year by clicking on this link: http://www.jtmmediaworks.com/#/page/home/

The AlphaPet team will of course be on hand at the AlphaPet stand to answer any of your questions and we'll be promoting our Pet Health Club, talking about the importance of Microchipping and telling you what your pet needs to become a blood donor.
We'll also have competitions, including a name that soft toy, so don't be shy, come and meet the team and see what other fun stuff we have planned! We just need good weather to top the day off.
