We have a great team of 15 highly qualified Veterinary Surgeons led by the two Directors, Richard Edwards and Doug Alexander.

Between us, we have a wealth of experience and expertise which allows us to deal with most most conditions we are presented with without the need for referral.

Richard Edwards MSc MA VetMB MRCVS (Director) Graduated from Cambridge University in 1989 having "gone the long way around" picking up degrees in Agriculture & Applied Zoology and also in Animal Production along the way. He came down to work in Chichester in 1991 and set up AlphaPet in 1993. Doug Alexander (Director)

Doug Alexander MA VetMB MRCVS (Director) Graduated from Cambridge in 1985. Joined AlphaPet as an assistant veterinary surgeon in April 1995 and joined the AlphaPet Partnership in June 1998. His particular area of interest is small animal orthopaedics and when at home, spending time with his family - his wife and 3 daughters!read more »

Katie Rook

Katie Rook MA VetMB MRCVS Katie graduated from Cambridge in 1990. She helped found AlphaPet in 1993 as a partner but was forced to retire from practice for a while due to ill health. However, she is not the sort of person you can keep down for long and we are very pleased and proud to have her back at AlphaPet. Katie has a cat called Dibley and a dog called Gilbert.read more »

Catherine Williams

Catherine Williams BA VetMB MRCVS. Catherine graduated from Cambridge University in 1997 and joined us in August 2003. She is now our longest serving assistant veterinary surgeon, mainly working at our Birdham surgery. Catherine has a number of pets of her own, and when not at work, will often be seen walking her dogs in the Downs.read more »

Nicky Bulbeck BVetMed PgCert SAM MRCVS RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. Nicky qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2009 and completed a certificate in small animal medicine in 2016. She is now managing the Chichester surgery, where she first began as a work experience student over 15years ago!! Laura Jenner

Laura Jenner BVetMed PGCert SAS MRCVS Laura actually started her career here at AlphaPet as a Sunday Kennel hand many years ago. She left us to study to become a vet and then joined us again having qualified in 2011 and has recently achieved a Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Laura has a little cat called Bramble. Claire Sawyer MA VetMB MRCVS Claire graduated from Cambridge in 2003 and joined AlphaPet in October 2004. She has a particular interest in acupuncture. Claire left us for a while to start a family but is now back with us on a part-time basis. Her spare time is split between her two young boys, dog agility and competing internationally in horseback archery.read more »

Charlotte Gray BVetMed MRCVS Charlotte joined AlphaPet in 2016 having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2010. She then spent a few years working at a veterinary hospital in Dubai before swapping sun, sea and high temperatures for the slightly more varied attractions of Bognor Regis! Jenny Heath BVetMed MRCVS Jenny is another Royal Veterinary College graduate and joined us in 2016, mainly based at our Bognor Regis Hospital. A local girl from Worthing, outside of work she enjoys badminton, playing the French Horn and is currently learning Spanish! Emma Cole BVSc MRCVS Emma is another local lass who graduated from Liverpool in 2012. She started off as an animal care assistant at Brent Lodge and after qualifying as a vet, she worked for some other local practices before joining AlphaPet in 2016. Michelle Beckett BVMS MRCVS Michelle graduated at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School in 2007. She first came to AlphaPet in November 2014 as a locum vet and now decided that she wants to settle down and and she has chosen AlphaPet as the place to do that. Outside of work, Michelle has particular interests in salsa, tennis and photography.read more »
