CEVA Vet of the Year 2012 Award

Richard is Vet of the Year 2012!

Richard Edwards has been honoured at the CEVA awards for Animal Welfare winning the inaugural Chris Laurence Vet of the Year 2012.

Richard was nominated by client Jaine Wild who wrote of him: "As a main partner in AlphaPet Veterinary Clinic, Richard has been the leading light in helping local animal and wildlife rescue and has encouraged other members of staff to do the same.  Richard is involved in the Badger Trust, helping to rescue and carry out post mortems.  He is also involved in marine life and wildlife rescue and campaigns against puppy farming.  Richard has changed the face of vet clinics in West Sussex to the appreciation of many animal welfare charities.”

Ginette Bryant of CEVA Animal Health UK said: "Richard is a truly inspirational unsung hero who deserves to be honoured for his achievements and dedication. "

Richard attended the ceremony in Birmingham on April 12th and said that he was "honoured and humbled".

He had been on a shortlist of 4 other inspirational vets and was very surprised, but absolutely delighted, to have won, and especially to have been honoured in the field of animal welfare - something to which he has dedicated the whole of his professional career, both for domestic pets and wildlife.
