Over 22,000 pet owners have trusted AlphaPet with their animals and we're here to help you too!
Hello there! I’m Richard Edwards, one of the founding vets at AlphaPet.
I wanted to be a vet ever since watching my uncle perform a sheep caesarian during an interrupted Christmas lunch in 1971. I qualified in 1989 and in 1993, I decided to set up my own practice which is how AlphaPet Veterinary Clinics was born!
Since qualifying, I’ve always had pets of my own - currently 3 dogs, 6 cats, 14 goats & 3 Soay sheep (all pets - my family is pescetarian!), a pony and 6 peacocks! So I know how precious pets are as part of our families. My overriding goal for AlphaPet has always been to treat your pets as if they were my own - keeping your pets fit and healthy whilst caring for sick pets (and wildlife) until they are better. This philosophy has been at the core of AlphaPet as we have grown.
In the 23 years since AlphaPet was established, over 22,000 pet owners have decided that they want this level of veterinary healthcare for their pets. They have trusted us with the care of over 70,000 pets in the Chichester, Bognor Regis, Selsey, Witterings and Bracklesham areas.
Whilst we have grown from just me, my wife and Katie Rook in 1993 to a 10 vet, 3 centre practice with vets in Chichester (AlphaPet Birdham and AlphaPet Kingley) and vets in Bognor (AlphaPet West Meads), we have been very careful to build the AlphaPet team with all the same values that we started with - something that is encompassed by our practice goal to provide “Exceptional care for the life of your pet”. I passionately believe that this can only come from an independent group of veterinary practices - that are not driven by shareholders and profits - but purely by quality of care, value and clinical excellence.
That is exactly what AlphaPet Veterinary Clinics offer you.
In an emergency, especially when your pet is seriously sick or injured, you want to visit your local practice and to see your normal vet as quickly as possible. That is why AlphaPet continues to offer our own in-house out of hours emergency service at our Bognor vets surgery in West Meads; so we are there when you most need us ensuring your pet is offered the same exceptional level of veterinary care. Both our Chichester vets surgeries use this in-house emergency service.
So, if you are looking for a vet in Chichester or Bognor Regis and surrounding areas, why not visit us today, request an appointment online or simply call our friendly reception team on 01243 842832 - they will always be pleased to help you.
